Noddy chicks have hatched

During this week it was like walking on eggshells, litterally. The reason, the Lesser Noddy eggs have started to hatch! As it is the first week, the adults are sitting nice and tight on their little bundles and it was difficult to get a decent photo, but here it is!

Bird news!

Returning to the island after a month’s leave, it was quite obvious that the number of birds on the island have significantly increased. Lesser Noddies and Brown Noddies have started coming in during April and the numbers are constantly increasing. Seabird count

Our annual seabird count has been completed, a reminder on how special Cousine Island really is. During the count we counted all the active (used) nests of Lesser Noddies, Brown Noddies, Fairy Terns, White-tailed Tropicbirds and  Bridled Terns within a number of 300 square metre plots.
